Review of Brian’s McLaren’s new book A New Kind of Christianity
by Tim Challies
It wasn’t too long ago that I wrote about Brian McLaren and got in trouble. Reflecting on seeing him speak at a nearby church, I suggested that he appears to love Jesus but hate God. Based on immediate and furious reaction, I quickly retracted that statement. I should not have done so. I believed it then and I believe it now. And if it was true [Continue reading ...]

One of the greatest misconceptions today is that the New Age Movement of the 80’s and 90’s is (1) a thing of the past and (2) has nothing whatsoever in common with Christianity. Nothing could be further from the truth on either count. Let me explain.
Most Americans today have sort of an eye-rolling, amused response to the phrase “New Age.” Perhaps their minds are conjuring up an image of Shirley MacLaine on the beach, talking to [Continue reading ...]
Goodbye Emergent: Why I’m Taking The Theology of the Emerging Church To Task
writes Jeremy Bouma …
I’m not exactly sure when my saucy love affair with emergent and liberal Christianity ended. My “I don’t” isn’t as crystalized as my “I do.” Maybe it was when I read Pelagius‘ writings and realized much of Emergent theology really does mirror his 5th century theology.
Maybe it was after the former head of Emergent [Continue reading ...]
Apologists Josh McDowell (sitting) and Dave Sterrett (standing) explain to audience members why Christians should be careful when listening to Oprah Winfrey’s spiritual teachings at an event hosted by McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Va., on Friday, January 22, 2010.
Persuasive, influential and does a lot of good, but Christians should be careful when Oprah speaks about spirituality, warned two apologists who recently co-authored a book on the subject.

In order for the emerging church to succeed, the Bible has to be looked at through entirely different glasses, and Christianity needs to be open to a new type of faith. Brian McLaren calls this new faith a “generous orthodoxy.”1 While such an orthodoxy allows a smorgasbord of ideas to be proclaimed in the name of Christ, many of these ideas are actually forbidden and rejected by Scripture.
Doug Pagitt believes that he is part of a cutting-edge [Continue reading ...]

Thus, Islamic Sharia law was officially adopted in Britain with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases. The government had quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, said he had taken advantage of a clause in [Continue reading ...]

Roger Oakland’s ministry “Understand The Times” has been such a blessing in my walk with the Lord. Here he explains the Emergent Pattern of The Emergent Church, a seeker friendly Christian movement touted to be the “New” Christianity for the Post-Modern World. But is the Emergent Church really a fresh approach to teaching sound doctrine, or is it part of the great end times apostasy predicted in the Bible?
In this video commentary, Roger Oakland explores the apostate pattern emerging from the Emergent [Continue reading ...]
Richard Bennett, a former Roman Catholic Priest … “Catholic Mysticism and the Emerging Church may be one of the most important topics that we have addressed. Catholic mysticism has helped mightily to transform the New Age Movement from being counter-culture to being embraced by Evangelicals, and Western civilization as such. Catholic mysticism has affected almost every facet of life without being noticed or perceived.”
The Roman Catholic Church officially recognised Paganism in Vatican [Continue reading ...]
According to ‘Times Online’ report; September 7, 2009 – Tony Blair has warned against the “dark side” of religion and said the world’s faith community had issues it must “confront and overcome”. He also said that it was not enough to “tolerate” people of different faiths. Muslims, Jews, Christians and members of all faiths must treat each other as “equal.”
