One of the greatest misconceptions today is that the New Age Movement of the 80’s and 90’s is (1) a thing of the past and (2) has nothing whatsoever in common with Christianity. Nothing could be further from the truth on either count. Let me explain.
Most Americans today have sort of an eye-rolling, amused response to the phrase “New Age.” Perhaps their minds are conjuring up an image of Shirley MacLaine on the beach, talking to [Continue reading ...]
Goodbye Emergent: Why I’m Taking The Theology of the Emerging Church To Task
writes Jeremy Bouma …
I’m not exactly sure when my saucy love affair with emergent and liberal Christianity ended. My “I don’t” isn’t as crystalized as my “I do.” Maybe it was when I read Pelagius‘ writings and realized much of Emergent theology really does mirror his 5th century theology.
Maybe it was after the former head of Emergent [Continue reading ...]

In order for the emerging church to succeed, the Bible has to be looked at through entirely different glasses, and Christianity needs to be open to a new type of faith. Brian McLaren calls this new faith a “generous orthodoxy.”1 While such an orthodoxy allows a smorgasbord of ideas to be proclaimed in the name of Christ, many of these ideas are actually forbidden and rejected by Scripture.
Doug Pagitt believes that he is part of a cutting-edge [Continue reading ...]
Roger Oakland’s ministry “Understand The Times” has been such a blessing in my walk with the Lord. Here he explains the Emergent Pattern of The Emergent Church, a seeker friendly Christian movement touted to be the “New” Christianity for the Post-Modern World. But is the Emergent Church really a fresh approach to teaching sound doctrine, or is it part of the great end times apostasy predicted in the Bible?
In this video commentary, Roger Oakland explores the apostate pattern emerging from the Emergent [Continue reading ...]
Richard Bennett, a former Roman Catholic Priest … “Catholic Mysticism and the Emerging Church may be one of the most important topics that we have addressed. Catholic mysticism has helped mightily to transform the New Age Movement from being counter-culture to being embraced by Evangelicals, and Western civilization as such. Catholic mysticism has affected almost every facet of life without being noticed or perceived.”
The Roman Catholic Church officially recognised Paganism in Vatican [Continue reading ...]
An interview, conducted September 2007, with theologian John MacArthur, about the state of the church, heralding a call back to truth of the pure Word of God (Proverbs 30:5-6), of which is a timely reminder with regard to today’s Emergent Church “Emergence Christianity” …
A Call Back To Truth
While Martin Luther called the church back to the truth of Scripture and the simplicity of the gospel, modern movements like the Emerging Church uphold “mystery” and question the traditional understanding of the gospel.

The Emergent Church
By Jan Markell
A not-so-funny thing happened on the way to the 21st century. In the late 20th century, certain leaders came out stating that we needed a “new way of doing church.” That old time religion wasn’t good enough. So in came new gimmicks replacing the solid gospel. We have seen the rise of the “seeker-sensitive” church movement that offends no one.
And then there is the Emergent Church
If you ask nine out of ten Christians just what is this Emergent or [Continue reading ...]
Here we have Rob Bell teaching, indeed, expounding
the benefits of breathing in Yoga!
“How would you feel if your pastor tried to teach you breathing exercises specific to prayer? What if he told you that your deepest fear is that you are powerful beyond all measure, or that unrepentant homosexuals can still be Christians?
These are just a few of the teachings brought to light as Ingrid and Ken look [Continue reading ...]

The Evangelization of Eucharistic Adoration
The Roman Catholic Church has a plan to establish the Kingdom of God here on Earth and win the world to the Roman Catholic Jesus – the Eucharist Christ. It is believed the “triumph of the Eucharist” will be accomplished when the world (including the separated brethren) come under the rule and reign of Rome and the Eucharist Jesus. The presence of “Christ” in the Eucharist is the second coming, Roman Catholic style.
The Emerging Church is the bridge [Continue reading ...]
