Christian apologetics and discernment are very serious things. It is very easy to incorporate the ways of the world into method and focus in this. When this happens then attacks on professing Christians come from an impure motive. This then causes the ones making the accusations to use slander, speaking evil against their target falsely. They revile the Christian, persecuting him and his ministry using innuendo. They have no real evidence that their accusations are true. Guilt by association is their bludgeon and [Continue reading ...]
It is one thing to confess Christ or profess to be a Christian and quite another to live and walk before the face of God within that confession or profession in obedience to God and His Word. There are so many in our time who claim to be Christians, but whose lives are marked by them speaking and living according to the world and its ways. I, like many of you, have become very perplexed when certain Christian leaders who profess all the [Continue reading ...]
“Your word,” says the Psalmist, “is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). It is like a lantern, which sheds light on our path, amid the darkness of the night, to direct the steps of our feet. The sincere Christian will therefore search the Word of God, for a knowledge of His will, with more eagerness than he would search for hidden treasures of gold and silver. A contrite heart, a broken heart, a humble heart. Whilst these may appear to be different ways of saying the same thing – they do have different meanings, and as such, with sincerity of heart, I sought to understand.
What is a contrite heart?
What does the Bible mean when it says; a broken heart?
What is true humility – in a true Biblical sense?
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a [Continue reading ...]
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
A teachable heart is a heart that has surrendered to God, a soft tender heart, yielded to receive, in humility, the truth of His word. A person who is humble in heart is someone who is always seeking the wisdom of God and is dependent on the Holy Spirit. Trusting in God, through the Holy Spirit, [Continue reading ...]
